Flying might just get Green

Helious solar powered aircraft developed by NASA

Solar planes are getting better and better and might start carrying people soon. I being a green energy devotee myself would love to fly one when these hit the market. These aircrafts because of their ability to stay in air all day long can also revolutionize scientific research in remote areas.

Answer to a Query:

One of my friends asked me yesterday that what are air ships. So I have decided to give some basic information about Airships for benefit of all. Airships are a type of lighter than air crafts which are ususlly filled with Hydrogen of in some cases with Helium as in wheather obervation Blimps ( a smaller type of airship ). Due to many balloons that an airship contains and longer hull Airships are considered best type of lighter than air flying machines because they can use propellers, rudders and are easily controlable. These machines are also more reliable than hotair balloons etc.

Airships were very popular before WW II and the Hindenburg disaster when the hydrogen in a Zipplen airship exploded due to a bomb.
Modern airship designs are a lot safer and cost effective as well.
